Fieldtrip sends a believable person through your site: a persona with a name, habits, and a job to do, browsing in a real Chrome browser and thinking aloud the whole way. You tell us who your customers are, and we hand back a UX report covering where they hesitated, what broke, and what to fix.
Margaret, 68, retired teacher. Comfortable with email, wary of anything that asks for her card too early.
Book two tickets to Saturday's exhibition and find out if there's parking nearby.
The route
You brief us, we run the trips, and the report lands in your inbox within days.
Tell us who visits your site and what they come to do. We shape that into specific personas with names, habits, and worries. "Margaret, 68, wary of card forms" finds different problems than "a user".
Each persona browses your live site in a real Chrome browser, narrating every decision in character. Alongside them, an independent observer records every click, every screenshot, and every request that fails.
You get a report that walks the journey step by step: every hesitation and why it happened, confirmed breakage, screenshots of exactly what the persona saw, and a ranked list of fixes.
Field notes
Two observers travel together: the persona narrating their experience, and an independent instrument watching the wire.
The persona narrates every decision in character, with explicit HESITATION: and WIN: markers. You read exactly where they paused, what they expected, and what they found instead.
An observer flags failed requests, console errors, and 4xx/5xx responses on pages the persona actually visited. Bot-defence noise and tracker chatter are classified out, so what remains is breakage a human would hit.
Each navigation and action is captured, so the report shows what the persona saw at the moment they said it. No reconstructing state from memory afterwards.
The report walks the route page by page: where the persona went, why they chose each link, and where the path they wanted didn't exist.
Findings arrive as concrete recommendations ordered by how badly they blocked the intent, so you know what to fix first.
Every run renders to a self-contained HTML report with one-click PDF export. Drop it in Slack or attach it to the ticket.
